Image Tool Guides what to use when

All 17 tools run in your browser no uploads, no servers. Your original never leaves your device. Pick by goal, not just file type.

Formats explained (one sentence each)

  • JPEG/JPG lossy photo format, tiny files, best for photos.
  • PNG lossless with transparency, ideal for graphics and screenshots.
  • WebP modern JPEG/PNG replacement, ~30% smaller in practice.
  • SVG vector, infinite zoom, best for logos and icons.
  • HEIC iPhone photo format, high quality but limited support convert to JPG for sharing.
  • PDF page-based, best when you need to print or attach.

Compression vs resizing vs conversion

Compress lowers byte size at the same dimensions (quality slider). Resize changes pixel dimensions. Convert changes format without necessarily changing size. Need to email a 6 MB photo? Compress to 70–80% and resize to 1920 px usually drops below 500 KB.

Privacy: everything uses Canvas / browser APIs. We never see your images great for IDs or client work.

Browser limits & tips

Large images (> 20 MP) may hit memory limits on phones. If a tool feels slow, resize first, then compress. For print, keep 300 DPI (use our image resolution converter); for web, 72–96 PPI is enough.

Quick start

  • Compress drag quality, preview size live, export.
  • Resize lock aspect ratio, set max width.
  • Crop keep the subject, trim the noise.
  • Size limiter hit an exact KB target.

Frequently Asked Questions OmniImages

Are my images uploaded?

No. All 17 tools run locally in your browser via Canvas. Closing the tab removes the data.

Which tool for a smaller email attachment?

Use Image Compressor at quality 75–80 plus Photo Resizer to ~1920 px.

JPG vs PNG vs WebP?

JPG for photos, PNG for graphics with transparency, WebP for the best of both where supported. Use our format converters to switch without leaving the page.

How image compression works simple and safe

Think of a photo as a big box of crayons. Compression is like packing that box tighter. For JPEG and WebP, you choose a quality from 10 to 100. At 80, you keep almost all crayons but the box gets half as heavy our eyes do not notice on a phone. At 50, you toss more shades, the file gets tiny, but sharp text may look fuzzy. PNG is different it packs without tossing any crayons, so it stays perfect for logos and screenshots. We use your browser’s Canvas to repack, so the picture never leaves your device, which is why it is private and fast even without internet after the page loads.

When to compress

Photos for email, web, or slides. Keep 75–80 for web, 85–90 for print. If small text looks blurry, raise quality 5 points.

When to resize

When pixels are too many. A phone photo is 4000 px wide, but email needs 1920 px. Resize first, then compress you compress fewer pixels.

When to convert

When the app needs a different box. iPhone HEIC to JPG for sharing, PNG to JPG with white fill for email, WebP to PNG for transparency.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Compressing before resizing you keep compressing pixels you will throw away. Resize first.
  • Saving screenshots as JPG text gets fuzzy. Use PNG for screenshots and graphics.
  • Going below quality 60 for photos with faces skin looks blocky. Stay 70+ for people.

All tools are free, no sign-up, and work on phone and computer. Close the tab on a shared device to clear memory. For print, keep 300 DPI and quality 90+; for web, 72–96 PPI and quality 75–80 is the sweet spot.

What Are Online Image Tools?

Online image tools let you convert, compress, resize, and edit pictures without installing software. OmniImages brings 17 free tools together in one place, from PNG to JPG, JPG to PNG, WebP to JPG/PNG, and HEIC to JPG format conversion, to SVG to PNG and PNG to SVG, plus Image to PDF and PNG to PDF creation, Photo Resizer, Image Compressor, Image Size Limiter, Crop Image, Image Watermarker, and Image to Base64 encoding.

Every tool runs with the browser's HTML Canvas API and FileReader, your files never leave your device. That means instant previews, adjustable quality for JPEG and WebP, transparent-background handling for PNG, and white-fill for lossy outputs so colors stay accurate. No accounts, no queues, and no watermarks, just drag, convert, and download.

When Should You Use OmniImages?

For web and apps: Convert images to WebP or compress photos to hit Core Web Vitals, reduce bandwidth, and load faster on mobile. Resize to exact dimensions like 1920×1080, 1280×720, or custom sizes, and limit file size to a target in KB before you upload to a CMS or marketplace.

For compatibility: Turn iPhone HEIC photos into JPG for universal sharing, change PNG with transparency to JPG with a clean white background for email, or embed a PNG inside an SVG wrapper for scalable graphics. Use Image to Base64 when you need a data URI for HTML, CSS, or JSON.

For documents and editing: Combine multiple images into one PDF for portfolios and printing, or crop to remove unwanted areas before publishing. All processing stays local, so sensitive photos, scans, and client assets remain private.

Why Use OmniImages Over Other Converters?

100% private, browser-only: Files are processed via Canvas in your browser, nothing is uploaded to a server. That protects privacy and makes conversion faster than cloud tools.

True quality control: For JPEG, JPG, and WebP outputs you can adjust quality (10, 100%) and see file-size savings in real time. PNG outputs stay lossless, and transparent images are handled correctly without black backgrounds.

One suite, 17 tools: Instead of jumping between sites, get format conversion, compression, resizing, cropping, watermarking, PDF creation, and Base64 encoding in a single, responsive interface that works on desktop and mobile.

Free and instant: No sign-up, no limits, no watermarks. Generate transparent PNG, scalable SVG, and print-ready PDFs at any size, ready to use on websites, social media, presentations, and print.
